Fiddlehead Festival June 3 & 4
Spring is feeling very springy this spring and we’ll be transitioning into the summer season before we all know it. But before we jump ahead to the dog days of summer and start enjoying the midnight sun, let’s take a moment to appreciate this transitional period full of renewal, light and of course fiddlehead ferns. The fiddlehead is a tasty little morsel full of vitamins, minerals, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, not to mention being a great source of dietary fiber. The fiddlehead fern has been incorporated into culinary dishes from Nepal, Indonesia, India, Japan, Philippines, France, Russia and of course, the greatest country ever, the USA.
With all of those options for culinary dishes it would be impossible to try them all but luckily the chefs at Alyeska will be creating some fantastic dishes for folks to sample at the Fiddlehead Festival. June 3 & 4 The Hotel Alyeska courtyard will transform into festival setting with live music, a fun run, food and craft vendors, cooking demos, a beer and wine garden. The event is free entry to all and families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the fun and friendly atmosphere. The event kicks off at noon each day and concludes at 8 p.m.

About World’s Finest Band:
It’s been a wild and crazy ride for the fellas in World’s Finest, since their modest beginning as an acoustic duo in Portland, OR living rooms in 2011. With a songwriting style rooted in Americana, the band banks on their ability to transcend genres of all kinds. String-centric and bluegrass-inspired compositions seamlessly transition into 3-Dimensional Psytrance, Funk, and Dub soundscapes, leaving their audience with a full circle experience of emotion and dance. Their appreciation for punk and ska can be found peppered throughout their shows and albums, made evident by up-tempo, high-energy offerings, reminiscent of such classic acts as NOFX and Operation Ivy. Never happy to settle, Chris, Dan, Sean, Evan, and Mike continue to push through boundaries and challenge themselves, while hoping to inspire their listeners to expect the most out of what a band in the modern age can be
