The Alyeska Mountain Run will take place this Saturday, August 15 at noon.
This race is the final of the Alaska Mountain Running Grand Prix which consists of 6 events that take place throughout the summer and include Mount Marathon and Crow Pass Crossing. Leaders of the Grand Prix series before this final event are Aubrey Smith in the women’s division and men’s leader Barney Griffith.
The Alyeska Mt. Run will be an uphill only this year, and will follow the route that was established for the World Mountain Running Championships that were held on Mt. Alyeska in 2003. The course features a 2000 foot elevation gain and distance of 2.5 kilometers.
Meet 10:00am – at base of Alyeska Tramway
Race time – 12:00noon – Entry closed at 11:30am
Entry fee: $35 on race day
