Aurora Bar & Grill
Located on the third floor of The Hotel Alyeska the Aurora Bar & Grill serves up specialized and refined comfort food. The ravioli is a personal favorite on the entree side of the menu while on the pizza side I seem to not be able to get enough of the Margarita, just a simple cheese pizza topped with basil and thick cut Roma tomatoes. Other favorites include the steak (naturally) the cod and the seafood salad. Kid’s will enjoy the children’s menu and adults will enjoy some custom cocktails like the Pandora’s Passion and the Mary Got Smoked. Aurora Bar & Grill is open seven days a week. Sakura Asian Bistro
Sakura is by far my favorite sushi spot in Alaska, the ambiance from the beginning is dramatic with black Granite counter tops and perfectly finished wooden seats that raise you up to elevated tables. Sakura offers a fun and modern dining experience featuring fresh seafood and meats, creative sushi and cocktails. The dining room with adjoining sushi bar has large shared tables providing guests a variety of seating options. Sakura’s menu focuses on signature dishes including Chicken Teriyaki, Grilled Wagyu Beef, Shrimp Tempura, and Alaskan Salmon, as well as hand-crafted specialty rolls and sushi prepared to perfection. Pair dinner with a wide selection of beer, wine, sake and not-to-be-missed specialty cocktails. Special Bento boxes feature selections of all your favorite dishes. Sakura is open at 5 pm Friday – Monday. Grab friends and head in on Monday’s for the $10 beer & roll special. If you’d like my personal recommendation on rolls, I prefer the Chugach, Spicy Tuna, St. Ellias and Dynamite for those looking for a tempura fix. No reservations needed.
