In its second season, the Seven Glaciers Wine Dinner Series has evolved and flourished thanks to the immense support of local wine lovers. Always focused on the perfect pairing of wine and culinary delights, the Resort has been fortunate to host winery greats such as Silver Oak and Stag’s Leap, and local’s favorites, Rodney Strong and Banfi. This March’s wine dinner is scheduled for Sunday, March 27 and promises to be the most unique wine dinner experience to date. The featured wines will be from Ghost Horse Vineyards and Conn Valley Vineyards, both labor of loves of Todd Anderson.
Ghost Horse’s vines were planted in 1997 and purchased in 2001 by Todd. Known as a boutique producer, the vineyard is managed to produce approximately 4 tons of fruit which will yield between 200 to 240 cases of wine. The vineyard is located in the Southeastern part of the Napa Valley in the Coombsville area up against the Vaca Mountain Range. The total property is 3.08 acres and the vineyard is slightly smaller than 2 acres with approximately 2200 vines per acre. Per the website, the row spacing is 5 feet and the plant spacing is 4 feet. There are 4 separate distinct Cabernets that are produced from the vineyard. Each of the wines are 100% Cabernet.
It doesn’t take long to realize that at Ghost Horse, where Todd has developed the land, pounded the posts, planted the vines, and personally cares for the grapes, wine making is a passion. Leveraging the perfect mix of art and science, the wines from the Ghost Horse vineyards are world-renown and legendary. Learn more about Ghost Horse >
