I didn’t know what 3+ inches of snow per hour meant until yesterday. I had wiped the car clean of the foot of new snow that had accumulated in the morning, and took the dog out for a quick spin. Upon our return, the car had received another healthy layer of fresh snow, replenishing itself as if it were magic. New to Alaska, I thought to myself, so this is what a REAL Alaskan winter storm looks like!!!
It may be March, but don’t let Mother Nature fool you. The return of the snow is finally here and just in time for spring break. The Girdwood valley has received 70″ of new snow up high this week, and that’s not counting Friday’s storm. Get those fat boards out, there’s still plenty of winter out there.
