Alyeska Resort is sharing some GOOD news today. It’s time to tune up your boards… due to the wintery weather and snow making efforts, Alyeska Resort will be opening a week earlier on Dec. 9 for skiing and snowboarding. Conditions will determine which lifts will run. If you haven’t already, pick up your passes starting today at the Hotel Ticket Office (10 am – 6 pm).
The resort was able to move up the original date due to cold temps that allowed the snow-makers to work around the clock and efforts from Mother Nature. In addition to the man-made snow, Alyeska Resort is receiving a healthy amount of natural snow on the mountain and more terrain is expected to open with more natural snow coverage in the coming weeks. The Alyeska Aerial Tram will also be open starting Friday, October 8th, for sightseeing and access to Bore Tide Deli & Bar.
Things not to miss:
The Sitzmark will also open at noon on Friday, the 8th for the season and will have an Ullerfest bonfire celebration that night with live music from Colorado-based Arthur Lee Land Trio. Starting Saturday, as weather conditions allow, lifts and the tram will operate starting at 10:30AM until 5:30PM. Listen to the band here.
OPENING DAY ALYESKA RESORT | Dec. 9th | Includes Tram, Bear Cub Quad, Magic Carpets, and Ted’s Express (conditions permitting), as well as the BoreTide Deli/Tram, Stizmark, Daylodge & Ski School/rentals.
Starting Sunday night, December 10th, the resort is offering a great deal for mid-week skiers and riders with the Stay & Ski Free package. Starting at $169 this package includes an overnight stay at The Hotel Alyeska and two adult lift tickets. This package will be offered on Sunday – Thursday and is a great and affordable way to get away.
